Getting Free Samples, Part One

Hello everyone! 

I'm very excited about this little project I'm doing! For the past few days I have been emailing companies (mainly beauty/skincare) and (very politely) asking for free samples of a few of their products. Here's how you can do it too!

1. Greeting: You want to make a good impression right off the bat so I always stick with "Dear Sir or Madam"

2. Body: OK, here's where you pitch the idea. If it's a company that you've used and loved then say something like "I'm a huge fan of..." or "Your product...is one of my favorites!" However, if you've never used the company before then say something like "I've been itching to try..."

3. Most important line: Try Before I Buy. This is the key factor to your email. You don't want to seem like you're just trying to mooch off of companies. You want them to know that you really want to try their products.

4. Closing: Make sure to end your email with a polite closing such as "Thank you very much for your time" or "I'm very grateful for your time"

There you have it. Now you too can ask companies for free samples. I can't guarantee that they all will oblige your request, but you've definitely got a shot. Most websites for companies have a Contact Us section that you can click on and it will take you to a space right on the website where you can type up your question. Others provide you with an email that you can message to reach them. Either way works just fine! 

As you probably noticed in the title, this is part one of my project. Once I have heard from all the companies and have received all of the products, then I will fill you in some more on which companies sent samples and which didn't.

Back Again

Dearest Readers, 

Allow me to take this time to sincerely apologize for neglecting my 
blogging duties. You know how you can just get so caught up in life that you forget to do things that you should be doing? Well that's me right now. I do apologize.

What I would love to talk about today is one of the big things on my mind right now: COLLEGE

Ah College. The place that always has seemed like the coolest thing ever is now approaching me quickly. I get excited about it most times, but my brain can pick up a few uncertainties about it such as:

1.  Major (SO MANY OPTIONS!)
2.  Friends (Can't my best friends and I just go to the same one?)
3. Distance (Farewell, Family)
4. Education (I'm not sure if I can do this)
5. Payment (Excuse me, money doesn't grow on trees)

All of these things occupy my thoughts from time to time and I'm sure that there are several of you that feel the same way. I know it can feel preeeetty crazy right now if you're looking at colleges, but the best advice I can give you is to pray. God knows His plan for you. He's got it allllll figured out. It can be kinda stressful not knowing for yourself what He's got in store, but this is when you need patience. Relax, He'll reveal it to you sometime. Also, remember that whatever major you choose isn't confining you. You can always switch up majors after you get a feel for it. As for me, I haven't decided on a major yet. I have so many areas of interest that I'm just trying to figure out which one I would like and fit in the best.

Oops haha sorry, I really like that song. I was about to get carried away. I guess it fits in with this post since I haven't posted in SOOO LONG!!! I guess right now I'm Adele and you are the subject of the song...

Anyways, I couldn't remember the last time I posted so I decided I should get at least SOMETHING out there! Can you believe that 2015 is almost over? I definitely can't! This year has gone by wicked quickly! Also, it's almost been a whole year since Prynn, Jaz, and I started this blog! I've enjoyed it so much. Yes, I know you must be thinking, "Umm Kat, you didn't post anything ALL summer or fall!" Ok, I know I didn't post anything this summer. I was extremely busy! And as for this fall, the season technically isn't over yet so HA! I still am posting in the fall of 2015. 

     A lot went on this year for me. I found out early this spring that I was moving. I went on two trips to Boston to help out in the community and to spread God's love with people in the city. My love Boston grew about a billion times. That city definitely has my heart! If you've never been to Boston, then I highly encourage you to go. It has just the right mix of history and modernization. 

  

I know this was a very short post, but I just wanted to get the feel of things again and I

can assure you that there will be more to come!

Bucket Lists

~You only live once, but if you do it right then once is enough~

 Have you ever made a bucket list? A bucket list is a list of things you want to do before you die. I highly suggest that you write one out. I've done it and I'm constantly adding things to it. You can add literally anything. It doesn't matter if your idea seems too small or too big. It could be as little as having a mud fight with your friends or as big as seeing the Eiffel Tower from a red plane while wearing a batman costume! There are no limits! Here's just a few of the things on my bucket list:

1. Play paint twister

2. Ride in a hot air balloon

3. Go skydiving

4. Ride in a biplane

5. Travel to the Isle of Barra, Scotland


That's just a smidgen of my ever-growing bucket list. I hope this inspired you to make a bucket list or add some more things to your already made bucket list!

Top Three Viners

Hello happy pappy people:) Pryn here, today you will read about the top three viners that are on the rise. These people are some of my favorite viners. EVER.

Here we go!!!!

#1: Rajiv Dhall

Rajiv is one of my favorite singers, he  currently on tour with Tanner Patrick and Andrew Bazzi. He is also in the band called TwentyForSeven. ISNT HE SUPER CUTE?!? Ladies go look him up:)

#2: Thomas Sanders

This guy is hilarious. My favorite vines of his are the Pokémon pranks. You know a vine is good when you play it over and over again! So go watch his.

 

#3: Lizzza

She is so funny she can make you tinkle. Seriously. Her vine page is Lizzza, so go favorite her. I guarantee she will make you laugh, even if you never have.

 

Well there you go. Lizzza, Rajiv, and Thomas are only three of my favorite viners but I bet if you hit that follow button they will lighten up you feed.

 

If you don't have vine it is a free app on iTunes. Vine has so many people that are hilarious. However, it has some people that post really inappropriate things. So just be careful.

Hey All!!!!

You guys liked my Get the Look post so much I thought I would do another one!


 Taylor Swift!

Ok... Even if you don't like her music, you have to admit she got that style!MMMHMMM!I will start off with her shirts. 

•  Often her tops have a modest round neckline. 
•  All of her shirts are comfy yet fashionable. 
• She seems to like the look of having loose fitted tops. 
• For patterns, she wears stripes and polka dots but its not too uncommon to see her in large floral prints or solid colors. = She 
• Button up collar shirts. That's all I need to say!

Her pants 

• She wears colored skinny jeans or skinny khakis. So, while she goes with loose shirts her pants are often tighter and more form fitting.
•  As for shorts, she has worn black, red, denim, and even yellow. I don't like short shorts but that's what she wears. 

The most interesting thing about Taylor's outfits is that if her pants or shirt aren't RED then something else with her is. Almost ALWAYS. She has red shoes, red handbags, red framed glasses, red accented patterns, red hats, and of course those classic red lips. Sure you could find a few outfits she doesn't have red but in general she does. I am a red kind of girl. It's my favorite color, so if I was to dress like taylor swift I would Always wear or have something red like her BUT if you want to do it but don't like red try another color. Maybe you always have something blue or purple! Make her style your own!

One last thing!!! Her shoes! She likes short cut boots with heels, keds ( red of course :),  your classic high heels, and flats. Sometimes she wears converse too<3

Carry-On Essentials

Aloha everyone! I thought that I would show you what I normally pack in my carry-on bag for flights so here it is!

Ok first I normally bring a backpack because it's just so easy to throw over your shoulder when you're going in and out of security and walking around the airport. 

Books are definitely essential for me. I never go to the airport without at least one in my carry-on. Who knows, maybe your flight will be delayed for 2 hours and you can't find an outlet to charge your phone that ran out of battery. Whatever the case may be, I always say bring a book.

Next, a journal. I don't know about you, but sometimes when I'm up in an airplane I get the best ideas and thoughts that I have to write down right away (I'm a very forgetful person).

 I also always pack my iPod with some earbuds. One of the most annoying things is getting to the airport and realizing you didn't pack any type of headphone... I've been in that position and it was NOT fun.

Lastly, my wallet. I think this is pretty straight forward, but I just bring it in case somebody I'm traveling with needs money for some reason or if I want to get a caramel mocha from Starbucks...


Well that's everything I bring on my carry-on! As you can see I don't bring very much on planes (All those books make my bag pretty heavy though...)
